HDD-Horizontal Directional Drilling

Directional boring, commonly called horizontal directional drilling or HDD, is a method of installing underground pipeline and conduits along a prescribed bore path below the ground surface, with minimal impact to the surrounding area. Our personnel have completed installations in lengths up to 6,500’ with pipe diameters up to 48”. HDD is an ideal approach to installations involving waterways, roadways, shore approaches, congested areas, environmentally sensitive areas and any area where other methods are more expensive.

We have performed bores in 70,000 psi rock formations and crossed 5,000 ft waterways. Our drilling superintendents have worked in some of the most congested areas of our country and they complete what they start.

The highly specialized nature of Horizontal Directional Drilling requires you have not only the best operators, but the best equipment. We have long been a Vermeer partner utilizing their equipment in both our distribution and transmission operations. Along with Vermeer, we have a few larger rigs from American Auger. Our fleet of HDD rigs give us the pullback capacity from 50,000 lbs. rigs up to our American Auger DD-625 providing us pullback up to 750k lbs.
